Physician Spotlight: Jeffrey Kellar, M.D. Specialty: General & Endoscopy
Dr. Jeffrey Kellar completed Medical School and General Surgery Residency at UAMS. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and Board Certified in General Surgery. Dr. Kellar is comfortable with patients of all ages from the newborn to nonagenarians (90-year-olds & older). One special interest includes Minimally Invasive Surgery, using the laparoscope in any case possible and the smallest incisions possible when the laparoscope is not an option.
Another special interest is in reflux and surgical correction of GERD and esophageal reflux. Developing a special technique for appendectomy in small children, and expanding this to adult surgery, gives him the capability to perform nearly scarless surgery in many cases.
Colon cancer screening, prevention, and treatment are other areas of expertise. Dr. Kellar also excels in the repair of abdominal and inguinal hernia. Getting you back to a normal day as quickly as possible is his major goal.

Physician Spotlight: Jeff Johnson, M.D. Specialty: Orthopedics
Dr. Jeff Johnson completed a fellowship in Hand and Upper Extremity surgery with the Philadelphia Hand Center and Thomas Jefferson University. He earned his medical degree and residency certificate in Orthopaedic Surgery while at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock. A member of Alpha Omega Alpha medical honorary, he was named the Resident Teacher of the Year in 2008.
Dr. Johnson has authored several journal articles and book publications. His research includes an anatomic analysis of the shoulder for computer-assisted surgery as well as the association between wrist trauma and carpal tunnel syndrome. He has presented his work internationally, as well as here in the States.

Dr. Sarah M. Covey completed her Ophthalmology residency at Louisiana State University after completing her Medical School training and internship at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.
After completing her training at LSU she is well versed in using a variety of intraocular lenses for cataract surgery and is personally committed to ensuring her patients receive individualized treatment plans to best meet their vision needs whether it be through cataract or presbyopia-correcting surgeries.
She has a special interest in cataract surgery and graduated from residency with the highest surgical numbers in her graduating class, and even more impressively, she graduated having achieved the highest cataract surgery numbers in the history of her residency program.
She is fluent in Spanish and has a special interest in medical missions both at home and abroad. She has participated in multiple mission trips over the past decade to Spanish speaking countries, has worked in free health clinics for low-income Spanish speaking patients, and most recently traveled to Guatemala in the fall of 2016 to restore sight to blind patients in rural Guatemala through small incision cataract surgeries and pterygium surgeries. Despite her avid interest in traveling the world for both work and pleasure, she is thrilled to again call Arkansas home and begin serving the patients in the Northwest Arkansas areas.
